Our company, ALFAW TRAVEL CO. For Travel and Tourism Services, was established in early 1997 in Alwinat (South Libya) as the main office. We have branches in Tripoli (the capital of Libya), Ghadames, and El Alwinat.

Our company has first-hand knowledge and experience with the desert and its people. The manager of the company, and most of the personnel are Tuareg people, from the desert areas of Alwinat (near Ghat). This means that when we talk about the desert we know what we are talking about, as we were born in the great desert, we know it, and we are prepared to take care of any and all details concerning travel in the Sahara . And we present our domain to the tourists with happiness, interacting with them to introduce them to the fascinating, ancestral Tuareg culture and way of life.

About the desert tour, please note the following activities :

• Camel Riding and/or 4WD vehicles.

• Cultural tourism: visiting the traces of human cultural heritage to be seen in the rock art of prehistoric Libyan civilizations.

• Adventure: car racing, motorcycles, mountain climbing, and the great sand seas.

• Relaxation: enjoy the magnificent sights of dunes, oases of lakes and palm trees.

Our qualified staff provides you with all the services you require, including experienced drivers, expert guides, and a superb chef and kitchen staff who will serve you hot and fresh meals while off road in the desert.

In extension, we provide services for many oil companies: catering, full camping facilities, transportation, guarding, medical survey and many others services per requirements.
About the coastal tours, please note that our office in Tripoli arranges this portion of the trip and provides all the services required in North Libya.  There, you can visit Roman, Greek, and Phoenician archeological sites including Leptis Magna (120 km east of Tripoli), Sabratha (70 km west of Tripoli), Cyrene, Apollonia , Ptolemais, and Tulmaytah.

In Tripoli, the capital of Libya , you can visit the old city , the museum , and the market (souk ).
For accommodation, we have in Tripoli the new international Corinthia Hotel (5 stars) with high deluxe services available, El Kebir Hotel (5 stars), El Mehare hotel (5 stars), and Bab El Bahar hotel (4 stars).  In Benghazi, there is Tibesti Hotel (5 stars); in Bayda, there is Quasar Baida Hotel (3 stars).  In the south of Libya, there are 3 stars hotels and our company has the highest-quality camp (at Alwinat). 
For transportation, we provide domestic flights, comfortable air-conditioned buses, and 4WD vehicles in the desert.
